Live, Connect, Explore Under The Influence of Bali

Temple

The winter blues are real, but you can beat them this year. Instead of ending the winter feeling mentally, physically and spiritually drained, you can end the winter season feeling spiritually full and refreshed from our single travel trip to Bali in February of 2012.  Single spots are available to this spiritually amazing travel destination.

The Balinese people are full of ideas on how to live, connect, and explore. Don’t just take our word for it, check out a blog regarding the top 25 experiences in Bali.  The list was compiled by The Lonely Planet. If we have learned anything about the bloggers at the Lonely Planet, it is that they know how to compile an accurate list about traveling in a foreign country.

Enjoy reading and don’t forget to check out SoloMate Travel’s Facebook page to tell us how you refresh and rejuvenate your spiritual well.

Gobble, Gobble – Global Thanksgiving

The holidays are fast approaching. Upon a simple trip to any retail store, you will see a plethora of holiday signs, decorations, and merchandise.  Perhaps as you drive through your community after a long day at work, you notice that some of your neighbors have started to decorate their houses for the holiday season.  Do you have a giant list of holiday to do’s dancing in your head?  You are not alone! But, before you make a mad dash for your book of traditional holiday recipes, gifts and of course the perfect outfit, slow down and remember that the holidays are a time to be thankful, not just a time to run around and purchase gifts.  This feeling of thankfulness that comes with the holiday season is celebrated globally.

Here are just a few ways that the world celebrates what they are thankful for:

In Canada, the 2nd Monday in October is celebrated with a family feast with turkey front and center, of course!

Australians celebrate in March with festivities highlighting the apple and grape harvest.

Brazil parties on the 4th Thursday in November with a big carnival and a huge meal.

Croatia is known for its celebration of freedom typically in the beginning of August.

Malaysia has festivities involving rice in the month of May.

And of course, The United States remembers a shared harvest and communal harmony the 4th Thursday in November, Thanksgiving!

Wherever you will be for Thanksgiving, SoloMate Travel extends our best wishes for a happy and healthy Thanksgiving celebration along with a year ripe with new single travel experiences.  Indeed there is so much to be thankful for.
