Single Travel Trip to Rio this February

Rio de Janeiro, nicknamed the “Marvelous City”, is the second largest city of Brazil and will house the Summer Olympics in 2016. Rio is located on a strip of Brazil’s Atlantic Coast. Travelers to Rio are fascinated by its music, enticed by its culture, and amazed at its breathtaking scenery. Not far from Rio is Iguassu Falls, a network of 275 waterfalls spanning an area of about 3 kilometers wide.

We recently took a group of single travelers to Iguassu Falls (Iguazu Falls) in Argentina and they were amazed by the breathtaking views of the cascades plunging down the lush green cliffs. Our travelers also caught sight of a gorgeous rainbow at Iguassu Falls! Videos of our singles journey to Iguazu Falls can be found our SoloMate Travel’s YouTube channel.

This February 23rd through 27th, we are taking another group of single travelers on a fantastic trip to Brazil’s Rio de Janeiro and Iguassu Falls. On this singles trip, our travelers will get to explore the famous sites of Corcovado & Sugar Loaf Mountain and return at night to their luxury hotel on the Copacabana beach. They will also get to experience Rio’s exciting Carnival and the beauty of Iguassu Falls in Argentina. The spots for our Rio de Janeiro trip for single travelers are filling up fast! Reserve your spot today by calling 855-290-7050!

Room to Breathe

Good friends are like a good red wine.  Sometimes you have to give them room to breathe.  Taking the time to either let your red wine or your friendship breathe allows you to experience the maximum aroma or flavor.  So, don’t be afraid to allow either to interact with the air by giving them some space to experience a foreign destination on their own.

The Lonely Planet, one of SoloMate’s favorite travel blog’s recently featured some helpful hints regarding traveling with friends.  The blog made some rather good points, like always.  One traveling tip not only discussed the thought that goes into choosing the right destination, but also the thought process involved in choosing the right travel friend.  Friends, again keeping with the wine comparison, are best when served with the right meal.  So, choose a friend that doesn’t mind being a perfect blend – a travel companion and a single traveler.

Connecting with a single friend through shared experiences while traveling is truly a wonderful and unforgettable way to see the world and all it has to offer.

VAT way to savings

VAT way to savings.  No, you read it correctly VAT as opposed to THAT.  VAT is an acronym for Value Added Tax. It is a form of a consumption tax that is levied on both goods and services in most countries.  It is very loosely related to sales tax.

The VAT you pay on your purchases may be refunded contingent on where you are and how much you spend. Here is a sample of the refunds you may be entitled to when purchasing souvenirs or other services while traveling solo.

Country           Tax charged             Min. spend for refund (or equivalent)

Be A GENIUS!

Thomas Edison was quoted as saying that genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration. That most likely is true. As no one ever says “I can’t believe its movie night” or “I wish there were no light bulbs”!  The amazing benefits that we reap from the many sleepless nights of perspiration from the Wizard of Menlo Park are still greatly appreciated!

But does being a genius always mean lots of perspiration?  SoloMate Travel thinks that sometimes being a genius simply means recognizing the value of ideas and experiencing them to their maximum benefit.  Sometimes, this means seizing the opportunity to embrace new experiences on your own. After all, aren’t you right in the middle of your own original invention, your life?

So, release your inner genius and make the decision to travel solo.  A trip created just for you, the single genius.  Relish in the knowledge that being a travel genius is ninety-nine percent the experience that the traveler shares with the destination.
The Lonely Planet put together 27 travel tips for making the most of your upcoming travel experience.  Be A Travel Genius – LIVE CONNECT EXPLORE.
